PROGRESS UPDATE AS OF JUNE 30, 2008

January
    * Exterior Siding/Roofing/Stone was chosen:  Gray Scheme as voted upon.
    * Steeple and Baptistry were ordered:  25-ft. Steeple with Cross - Bone color selected for baptistry.

February
    * P
ermit for the Footers and Slab was received from the state! 
    * Gravel was spread on the parsonage drive and the drive to the building site. 
    *
Plumbing Plan was completed.

March
   
* Windows were donated by an organization in Winchester, Kentucky, saving us $6,000 or more.
    * Footers and foundation blocks were completed.

   
April
   
* In-slab electric and plumbing was done in April. 
    * Po
rt-a-potties were ordered and delivered to site in April.
    * Slab was poured in April by Shon of Carpenters for Christ, saving us several thousand dollars.

May
   
* Preliminary landscaping was done to put dirt around the foundation and Gravel was placed on the ground to help with mud and loose soil.
    * Building Package
arrived on May 30th.  Crane, fork-lift and scissor-lift were ordered.
    * Steeple
and Baptistry were delivered to building site by Carpenters for Christ volunteers, Bill and Joan, saving us $1,000 or more in delivery charges.

June
   
* Carpenters for Christ group of 100+ professionals began arriving on June 1st.  Between June 3rd and June 12th, they put the building under roof, installed windows, doors, baptistry, and set the steeple.
    * Bold Mission Builders Group 1 arrived on June 15th and Group 2 arrived on June 22nd.  Between the two groups, the exterior siding and roofing were finished, much of the electric was roughed-in, insulation was installed on most outer walls and sanctuary walls, and sheetrock was put up in the Sunday school wing and the pastor's study.
    * Plumbing was roughed in and passed inspection.
    * HVAC duct work and units were installed.

July
    * Electric will be completed; insulation and sheetrock will be installed; drywall finishing will begin; light fixtures, interior doors, and flooring will be installed as workers are available.

Volunteer Groups scheduled to come this summer:

            June   1 - 14  Carpenters for Christ (Alabama)
                                    
Group of 100 men will put Church under roof

            June   6 - 14  Victor Baptist Church (South Carolina)
                                Will host Vacation Bible School for us
                                and help where needed.

            June 15 - 27  Bold Mission Builders (Georgia)
                              
of the Stone Mountain Baptist Association
                                     is sending approximately 85 men the first week
                               and 20 the second week.

            July    5 - 11  First Baptist Church of Jacksonville (Alabama)
                                    
Group of 25 will help with interior work.

            July    7 - 11  Clearview Baptist Church (South Carolina)
                               Group of 30 will help with interior work.

            July  13 - 19  Marion County Baptist Association (Alabama)
                                    
Group of 80  - 30 to 35 men will
                               work at church site while young people will
                               be hosting activities for local youth.

            July  19 - 25  Melrose Baptist Church (Virginia)
                                    
group of 25 coming to do finish work.  A block party
                               will be held for young people.

            October, November, December Various Small Groups (South Carolina)
                               Hang Sheetrock, Finish Sheetrock, Paint.
